Let’s Go Fitness steers growth course

During the last two and a half years, the Swiss fitness club operator Let's Go Fitness increased its club portfolio by 20 clubs resulting in a total of currently 48 clubs. The majority of the facilities (13) were added to the portfolio through one of the five acquisitions in this period. The membership grew from 30,000 to 50,000 members over the same period of time.

When the Let’s Go Fitness group was acquired by AFINUM in 2014, about 30,000 members exercised in one of the 28 clubs. Since the acquisition by AFINUM Siebte Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG, advised through Munich based AFINUM Management GmbH, the operator has strengthened its market leadership position in western Switzerland. Currently, their membership grants about 50,000 members of the group access to 48 well equipped centres.

By playing an active role in the consolidation process of the fitness market in Switzerland and by expanding its network, the business wants to add value for its customers and to make use of synergies on an operational level.

Today, let’s Go Fitness is one of the largest operators of fitness centres in French-speaking Switzerland. With its positioning in the upper mid-range segment, Let's Go Fitness wants to serve the growing number of demanding and health-oriented customers by offering modern facilities, professional training support and extensive course programs as well as various spa treatments.

In total 13 clubs have been acquired during the following transactions. They have been rebranded into Let’s Go Fitness and – together with the new openings – extend the operators network:

One year after its takeover by AFINUM, Let’s Go Fitness acquired Fit-Plus Sarl with one club located in a shopping centre in Villars-sur-Glâne in the west of Fribourg as part of a succession plan in September 2015. The next target was the Physic Club group with its five locations in La Chaux-de-Fonds (2), Neuchâtel, Le Locle and Cernier in December 2015. The founder of Physic club Christian Matthey obtained a stake in Let’s Go Fitness in the course of the transaction and took on a management position in the group working together closely with CEO Jean-Pierre Sacco.

The acquisitions of Physic 2000 SA with one facility in Payerne in October 2016 and of Heaven Fitness Sàrl (“Fit Heaven“) in Echallens in January 2017 were both part of a succession plan.

In March 2017, the two clubs of Fitbudget-Clubs in Sion and Granges-Paccots became part of the network with the takeover of Fitbudget Holding S.A. Most recently, Let’s Go Fitness acquired the three facilities (Champel, Eaux-Vives and Voie-Creuse/Nations) of California Fit-Concept S.A. („California Fitness“) which are well established in Geneva. This transaction was also part of a succession plan.
