FITNESSLAND takes over HYGIA Group

The northern German fitness operator FITNESSLAND, based in Braunschweig, has taken over the HYGIA Group. The transaction includes a total of ten facilities of the premium fitness chain HYGIA, as well as the Vienna and McV! brands, spread over the five locations in Braunschweig as well as Celle, Schwülper, Wolfsburg, Wolfenbüttel and Peine. Through the takeover of the HYGIA Group, FITNESSLAND now grows to more than 28 locations.

Christian Haertle, former managing director of the HYGIA Group, explains the transaction: "The Corona crisis hit us hard with its lockdowns and studios closed for over half a year. It made me think and I decided for myself to withdraw from the industry. The HYGIA brand will continue as a premium studio under Dominik Horn and the Brunswick-based company FITNESSLAND in my spirit."

Fitnessland operates its 18 previous facilities with a "price-friendly" fitness concept in small towns and metropolises between Cologne and Kiel on areas of 1,500 to 2,000 m².
