After the sale of two clubs in Cologne to the local competitor Just Fit in summer, HealthCity has further reduced the number of its locations to nine with the recent sale to Holmes Place. At its peak the company owned more than 20 clubs. With the increasing success of their international budget concept Basic Fit, the HealthCity shareholders Rene Moos and Eric Wilborts had decided to divest their HealthCity engagement in Germany.

However, with the acquisition of the two HealthCity clubs, Holmes Place is continuing its focus on major German cities. Holmes Place CEO Doron Dickman states, "Together with our clubs "Provinzialplatz" and "Königsallee" the new club in Oberkassel is our third club in Düsseldorf and helps us strengthen our position in town."

The HealthCity Rüttenscheid location in the south of Essen should also have an attractive catchment potential for the new owner. In its offer, the company focuses its positioning in the premium segment, which is accompanied by a high-quality wellness offer, and usually also includes a pool.

As in the sale of previous HealthCity clubs, all employees and members were taken over by the buyer. The transaction was supported by the consulting firm edelhelfer, which focusses its strategic work in the sports and fitness market. Promising discussions with interested parties are also held for the remaining HealthCity facilities.
