Verium acquires share in basefit.ch

A group of investors represented by Verium acquires a share in basefit.ch AG, one of the leading budget fitness chains in German-speaking Switzerland

basefit.ch is an aspiring fitness chain in the Zurich area and pursues a growth strategy in Switzerland. Within the scope of the targeted growth a group of investors represented by Verium provides new capital to the company. The additional funds shall enable basefit.ch to grow organically and through selective acquisitions during the next years.

Currently, basefit.ch operates ten fitness clubs in the Zurich metropolitan area. The individual clubs are characterized by large workout area with a high number of modern training machines available at an attractive membership fee. Verium is looking forward to expand the successful concept and to strengthen the operator’s position in the Swiss market together with the experienced basefit.ch management team. Marc Erni and Marco Lang will represent Verium at the fitness chain’s board of directors.

basefit.ch was founded by Stefan Lüben and its managing director Susanne Wendt has been leading the operative business since the beginning. They will both remain in their positions in order to promote the future development of basefit.ch together with Verium.
