In the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region and beyond, the Group now has around 50 facilities with a total area of 130,000 square metres where around 176,000 members train. The VeniceBeach concept accounts for the largest share of the facilities with 29 facilities, followed by FitBase and the premium clubs and resorts such as the one in Wiesloch. In terms of members, Pfitzenmeier is one of the ten largest fitness providers in Germany.
In addition to new developments, the company is also focussing on acquisitions as part of its expansion. Last year, for example, it took over a studio from the provider American Fitness in Haßloch.
„We want our members to be able to reach one of our studios within a radius of 80 kilometres within 20 minutes. We are already represented at a good 50 locations,“ says company founder Werner Pfitzenmeier, describing his company's vision.
And so a further 26,000 square metres of fitness and wellness space is currently being planned across the company's three facility concepts. One outstanding project is the wellness and fitness park in Heidelberg's Bahnstadt district.
„It is unique in Germany for a provider to occupy its regional market with such a large number of facilities and across all market segments from discount to premium,“ comments fitness market expert Niels Gronau from edelhelfer on the positioning of the Pfitzenmeier Group.
