With the take-over of its direct competitor FITmade, basefit.ch becomes the second-largest fitness operator in German-speaking Switzerland with 35,000 members. Through the acquisition of the four FITmade clubs in Zürich, Bern, Biel and Basel basefit.ch is now present at 14 locations in total. For the first time, customers beyond the Zürich larger area can benefit from the operators large selection of modern fitness machines and an average size of 1,700 m² at an affordable price.

The transaction confirms basefit.ch’s announced growth strategy to expand its offer to entire German-speaking Switzerland by selected acquisitions and opening new clubs. The multi-family office Verium from Zurich, which acquired a share in basefit.ch in May 2015, will support the operator with its expansion.
