The Murhof Group has announced the purchase of the majority shares of the German GolfRange GmbH and plans to continue its expansion. On the one hand the Murhof Group took over the stakes of the private equity society Waterland. On the other hand the majority of the previous co-shareholders also sold its stakes to the Murhof group. The biggest Austrian golf operator who is responsible for 14 golf courses and 15.000 members expands its field of activity to the nearby foreign country and takes over one of the biggest golf course operators in Germany.
The Murhof group is going to be majority shareholder of a total of 11 golf courses in Germany: These include nine courses located close to large cities 9-hole-courses in Munich (3), Augsburg, Nürnberg, Dortmund, Bremen, Berlin and Hamburg as well as a 18-hole and a 27-hole course in greater Munich. A total of 8.500 members and 60.000 golfers use those 11 courses.
The Murhof group and the GolfRange GmbH form an alliance in the German speaking golf market. “We will bundle our know-how to offer attractive packages to our customers. Through the emerging synergies we want to strengthen the position of both companies but also provide touristic effects in Austria and Germany”, explains Johannes Goess-Saurau, owner of the Murhof Group
