OCEANSAPART has made a name for itself as an activewear brand in recent years, but has not been able to maintain its position on the market in the long term. The company filed for insolvency in July 2024. Despite the difficulties, the two managing directors of SNOCKS, Johannes Kliesch and Rehan Choudhry, recognised great potential in the brand and decided to purchase OCEANSAPART.
‘This is a very good strategic fit for us,’ says SNOCKA Co-CEO Rehan Choudhry. Snocks only recently expanded its range to include sportswear for women - a segment in which Oceansapart had focussed. ‘We can gain a lot of expertise there and drive our growth forward,’ said Choudhry.
OCEANSAPART achieved sales of just under 65 million euros in the last financial year. Oceansapart will continue to exist as an independent brand. The brand will be continued by the newly founded company, More than oceans apart GmbH, with Choudhry as Managing Director. The 24 employees of Rise Up Fashion GmbH will also be taken over by SNOCKS.
The new management will now rebuild the OCEANSAPART brand and promises customers that everything will remain as usual for them - orders can still be placed, good product quality is guaranteed and the focus is on trust. The sale offers a great opportunity for OCEANSAPART: now that SNOCKS has bought OCEANSAPART, synergies can be created that will benefit both brands. Nevertheless, they will remain independent of each other so that customers will not notice any changes when shopping. OCEANSAPART will continue to be the address for feminine activewear with a strong focus on yoga.
