In 1982, Carl Gripenstedt started with his fitness chain “Lifestyle Fitness” in the UK. As one of the first companies he began to cooperate with local authorities in the combinded operation of swimming pools and fitness facilities. Today around 50 fitness facilities in UK, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Sweden are runned in collaboration with local municipalities. The clubs vary in size and consist up to 5,000 members each. The Bystad holding company headquartered in Brevens Bruk, Sweden, is run by the Gripenstedt family and is the parent company for the daughters X-Force Sports Club in Germany, Competition Line UK with the brand “Lifestyle Fitness” in the UK and Brevens BrukAB , a company in the agricultural and forestry area in Sweden .
For the second project with direct connection to the Nettebad in Osnabrück an facility of 2,000 m² is planned. The health club will extend over two floors. In addition to the gym, members can use the swimming pool area, including sauna and spa.
The club provides strength and cardio equipment, free weights area, open space for functional training, course room and spinning rooms, nursery , lounge as well as an bar area and an attached physiotherapy center .
A special feature of the X-Force Sports Club are the X-machines; the mechanical negative-training equipment with a weight block. The patented training devices combine concentric and eccentric strength training. These devices were developed by Mats Thulin, who has great experience in the gym himself. Until 2007 he was owner and operator of Nautilus Gym, Actic Fitness today, one of the largest fitness companies in Scandinavia.
