Places for People acquires DC Leisure

DC Leisure , one of the UK's leading companies in the management and development of recreational facilities , was acquired by Places for People , one of UK's largest property companies.

Under the ownership of Places for People, DC Leisure will be responsible for the outsourced management of a growing number of leisure facilities , making use of the existing experience of the new owner in the development of investments, the construction of new and the improvement of existing facilities.

The aim of the strategic investment of Places for People is to use the expertise of DC Leisure to grow in the business of leisure facilities in the service sector. Therefore, attractive locations and residences with integrated facilities such as schools, shops and things have to be developed in partnership with local authorities and communities. The brand DC Leisure is to be retained as a subsidiary of Places for People. DC Leisure, established in 1991, manages over 100 leisure facilities on behalf of 28 different municipalities.

In the last six years, 10 new recreational facilities were built; the number of visitors are at a total of about 25 million per year. The real estate company Places for People, founded in 1965, currently is in charge of 82,000 objects. The company's activities are in the field of construction, renovation and property management. A particular focus of the company lies on social aspects such as the creation of living spaces , the promotion of community and residential care with specialist care and support.
