Fitness companies in German-speaking countries continue to expand

The franchise fitness companies clever fit , Bodystreet and Mrs. Sporty expand at a record pace - clever fit opens 21 fitness facilities in the next three months, Bodystreet continues its success story with the 150th location and Mrs. Sporty continues to open up in new countries and expanding existing markets. The Swiss Federation of Migros Cooperatives , with its brand ACTIV FITNESS the market leader in the fitness sector in Switzerland, expands under the name “elements” in Germany since the end of 2012 - five additional facilities are planned.

The chain clever fit was founded in 2007 and is now one of the three largest fitness chains in Germany. In 2013, approximately 20 new health facilities have already been opened in Germany and thus continued growth. The first club outside of Germany opened up in early 2011, now the franchise chain with a total of 128 studios is represented in Germany and more recently in Austria and the Netherlands. The number of members grew steadily in recent years, so that the chain has approximately 200,000 registered members today.

Also BODYSTREET grows: Recently, the 150th location in Karlsruhe opened since the successful franchise project started in 2010 after a three-year pilot phase. The training method for the EMS (electrical muscle stimulation) enables short 20-minute units for all customer groups and has now established itself well beyond the borders of Germany to Austria. Over 550 Mrs. Sporty gyms with over 200,000 members are available in Germany, Austria , Switzerland, Italy , Spain, Poland and Slovakia. Currently an average of 80 new sports clubs open each year. Mrs. Sporty has been honored by the business magazine "impulse" 2012 as the best franchise-provider in the service sector and now plans its expansion to other countries for 2013. Both providers were able to grow very quickly, especially through the business of micro- studios with low capital requirements and as a franchise concept.

In Switzerland ACTIV FITNESS, a subsidiary of Migros Zurich has ranked first in the fitness sector. In March, the rapidly expanding company is planning the 20th ACTIV FITNESS facility to open. Migros is also represented in Germany. The first club opened in late 2012 under the brand ELEMENTS and is the first of five planned fitness facilities, two locations in Munich and one store each in Frankfurt and Stuttgart. A total of 50 facilities are planned in central locations. The Swiss Migros Cooperatives bring over 25 years of experience and expertise in the field of wellness and fitness to Germany.
